Suthering

Suthering is a folk duo with Julu Irvine & Heg Brignall. Their songs touch on hope, nature, and community. They blend beautiful harmonies with piano and guitar in a unique folk style. Known for engaging performances, they sing about climate issues, social awareness, and female figures in folk tales. Their debut album "If We Turn Away" was well-received, and they are working on a new album for late 2024 release. Inspired by Dartmoor National Park, their music explores connection, environment, and current events. Suthering has toured the UK extensively and has been featured by BBC, R&R, FATEA, and more. They performed at Sidmouth Folk Festival in 2022 and other festivals in 2023. They've also appeared at Costa Del Folk, Priddy Folk Festival, and Beardy Folk Festival. Involved in the "Songs of Separation" project and associated with Rural Touring & Applause schemes, community choirs, and singing workshops for adults with Suthering Singing Retreats.
